About the Role
This Lecturer in Foundational Sciences (LevelB) position plays a key teaching-focused role within the SA Rural Medical (SARM) Program, contributing to the delivery of an innovative, student-centred Doctor of Medicine curriculum delivered across rural South Australia. Based in Mount Gambier, you will deliver high-quality teaching across Years1 and2, covering core biomedical disciplines, while applying contemporary pedagogy and education technologies to enhance the student experience. The role supports the University's commitment to educational innovation and is integral to developing a future-ready rural medical workforce.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver engaging, high-quality teaching across foundational medical sciences (e.g. anatomy, physiology, pathology) within the SARM program.
* Design, review and continuously improve curriculum and learning experiences using innovative and technology-enabled approaches.
* Provide academic support, mentoring and guidance to students to enhance their learning, professional development and career readiness.
* Contribute to academic coordination, quality assurance, and broader university and community engagement activities.
Qualifications
* A PhD (or equivalent) in a relevant health or medical science discipline, with demonstrated expertise across foundational biomedical sciences.
* Proven excellence in tertiary teaching, including the application of contemporary pedagogical approaches and student-centred learning practices.
* Experience in curriculum design, coordination and continuous improvement, including the use of education technologies and online delivery.
* Strong communication, collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with students, colleagues and external partners.
