Alfred Health is a leader in health care delivery, improvement, research and education, providing a broad spectrum of services to the inner southeast suburbs of Melbourne. On 1 January 2026, Alfred Health will merge with Kooweerup Regional Health Service, Peninsula Health, Bass Coast Health and Gippsland Southern Health Service to form Bayside Health, a newly merged health service with more than 22,000 employees caring for over 1.2 million Victorians. The merger will strengthen our workforce, providing new training, education and career opportunities. All employees from the five health services will transfer to Bayside Health upon final approval.

About the Department
MASC Trials (Melanoma and Skin Cancer Trials) is Australia and New Zealand’s collaborative trials group specialising in investigator‑initiated melanoma and skin cancer research. Working with multidisciplinary medical and research professionals around the globe, MASC Trials conducts clinical trials and related biological research to improve treatments for melanoma and non‑melanoma skin cancers. The organization is a registered not‑for‑profit with an academic affiliation with Monash University and a dedicated research centre.
The Role
MASC Trials is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Clinical Data Manager to support investigator‑initiated, multi‑centre, national and international clinical trials in melanoma and skin cancer. The role will be responsible for all aspects of timely and accurate data management in compliance with national and international regulatory legislation relating to medical information and Good Clinical Practice. Key responsibilities include:
- Development of database templates and trial data management processes.
- Implementation of quality assurance activities.
- Performing data cleaning and data validation to ensure robust datasets.
- Collaborating with stakeholders to manage each project and build relationships.
- Assisting in the preparation of research outputs including publications and presentations.
- Potential future career progression into a senior role supervising and training staff.
Qualifications
- Tertiary qualifications in Health Information Management, Life Sciences or equivalent with substantial relevant professional experience.
- Preferred 1 year of experience in clinical trial data management.
- Proficiency in Electronic Data Capture (EDC) software such as REDCap (data validation, cleaning, database building and data extraction).
- Experience writing code to extract and analyse data efficiently.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving and organisational skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with a proactive and solution‑focused attitude.
