General Manager - Tiny Homes Manufacturing
Wheelie Rooms is one of the largest and most recognised manufacturers of tiny homes in the country. From our Brisbane and Melbourne bases we build high-quality, genuinely affordable homes and deliver them right across the nation — giving everyday Australians a real path to secure, stable living when the traditional routes have become harder and harder to reach.
We're proud of what we've built, but we're nowhere near done. We've recently expanded into Melbourne — our first move interstate — and our vision is a simple one: continuous, sustained growth.
The last twelve months have been spent laying the track for exactly that: financial reporting, operational targets, performance monitoring and the systems that let a business scale without losing its grip on quality. The foundations are in. The team is strong. What we need now is the right leader to take the reins and drive us to the next level.
This is not a caretaker role. It's a build-it-bigger role.
The opportunity
Reporting directly to the directors, you'll own the performance and growth of the entire operation. You'll inherit a capable team and a set of systems, and your job is to make all of it go further, faster — turning solid foundations into a national footprint. You'll have genuine autonomy to make decisions and move quickly, without wading through layers of red tape.

Who we're looking for
A true generalist. A commercial all-rounder who is just as comfortable shaping a growth strategy with the Directors as walking the workshop floor and having a straight, honest conversation. You think in numbers and outcomes, but you lead with people.
* Forward and target-focused: driven by KPIs and targets — you set the dashboard, watch the numbers, and act on them.
* A strategist who delivers: you've built and executed growth strategies before, and you know how to turn a plan on a page into results on the ground.
* An operator at heart: you find the friction points, fix the process, and lift output and margin without breaking what already works.
* Commercially sharp: you grow revenue in a way that supports the growth plan — not sales for the sake of a spike, but sales that scale sustainably.
* Built for expansion: you've taken a brand from regional to national and understand what it really takes to scale quickly without the wheels falling off.
* A genuine people person: you mentor, coach and back your managers and your staff in equal measure. People do their best work for you.
* Unafraid of the hard conversation: with the leadership team, with an individual team member, or with the directors. You handle them early, fairly and head-on.
What you'll drive
* Set and own the growth strategy that takes Wheelie Rooms from industry leader to national household name.
* Lift operational performance across production, quality and cost — building on the targets and monitoring already in place.
* Run the business to clear KPIs, and hold the whole team (yourself included) accountable to them.
* Drive sales growth that is deliberately aligned to the expansion plan and the capacity to deliver.
* Lead the national rollout of the brand — building on our new Melbourne site — as we grow toward multiple locations country-wide.
* Coach, develop and retain a great team — the right people in the right roles, growing as the business grows.
* Be the decision-maker the directors can hand the keys to, and the leader the team wants to follow.
What you'll bring
* A proven track record of growing and scaling a business — ideally one that has expanded its footprint or gone national.
* Strong operational and commercial acumen, with real experience improving performance against hard targets.
* A history of building, leading and developing high-performing teams in a fast-moving environment.
* Confidence working to budgets, forecasts and financial reporting, and using the numbers to make decisions.
* The personal credibility to influence at director level and the warmth to connect on the workshop floor.
* Experience in the portable and relocatable homes industry — modular homes, manufactured housing, caravans, RVs or similar — is a real advantage, as is any broader manufacturing or trades-based background. That said, the right generalist leader matters more than the sector on your CV.
