We're seeking a proactive, detail-oriented professional to join the Ecology team where your work will directly support the ecological integrity of major infrastructure and development projects across Australia.

We are seeking experienced and motivated Senior Ecologists to lead field teams, deliver high-quality environmental outcomes, and work closely with clients and project teams across a significant infrastructure program.

Contribute to a major, high-profile NSW energy project Lead and mentor field ecologists to ensure quality delivery Work with engaged clients and a supportive internal team Flexible location preference for Wagga Wagga or Sydney Two openings available due to project growth About the Role As a Senior Ecologist, you will take a leading role in coordinating ecological reporting, guiding field teams, and supporting the delivery of environmental commitments and regulatory requirements.
You will work closely with the GIS team, project leadership, and the client to ensure accuracy, consistency, and high-quality outputs.
About You We are looking for ecologists who bring: 35 years experience in ecological assessment, reporting, or similar roles Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities Excellent communication skills and confidence working with clients High attention to detail, paired with strong writing and reviewing capabilities A collaborative, proactive approach and a passion for achieving positive environmental outcomes Key Responsibilities Coordinate and review all project ecological reporting, including: Pre-clearing reports to validate EIS findings and outline clearing mitigation Post-clearing reports summarising ecological outcomes and clearing activities Consistency assessments for minor or ancillary works under existing approvals Targeted seasonal survey reports Oversee ecological data flow and data management processes in collaboration with the GIS team Maintain strong, professional relationships through clear and proactive client liaison Provide leadership and guidance to field ecologists as part of project delivery Why work for NGH A front row seat in Australias energy transition.
