About The Role
TheHousing Maintenance Supervisorplays a pivotal role in overseeing the safe, compliant, and efficient delivery of maintenance services across BMA's housing portfolio in Moranbah.
This permanent, trade-qualified leadership position is responsible for supervising a multidisciplinary trade team, managing a multimillion-dollar annual budget and ensuring the integrity of an extensive asset base comprising houses, units, undeveloped lots and development parcels.
The role contributes to strategic planning and decision-making within the I&S Housing Stream and executes as part of the Facilities Maintenance team.
The collaborative role supports fellow supervisors in the broader infrastructure operations across villages, airport, Dysart and Moranbah.
This role is a7/7 roster 6am - 6pm(including on-call responsibilities) based in Moranbah with residential, DIDO and FIFO from Brisbane options available.
In This Role You Will
Lead a team of licensed tradespeople to deliver maintenance services across 507 houses, 373 units and associated assets
Ensure all works are executed safely and in compliance with relevant legislation (Work Health and Safety Act, QBCC Act, Electrical Safety Act, Residential Tenancies Act, etc.)
Manage work packages end-to-end — scoping, planning, execution and reporting — aligned with BMA's BOS (Business Operating System).
Active field leadership in the management and supervision of staff.
Extensive work management within SAP.
Maintain high standards of service delivery and stakeholder engagement across the housing portfolio.
Provide on-call support across multiple sites including villages, airport, Dysart and Moranbah.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives and foster a culture of safety, care and accountability.
Collaborate and lead in the management of tenant enquiries and expectations relating to maintenance.
Support succession planning and team development to mitigate emerging workforce risks.
Collaborate with the incumbent QBCC licensed contractor under a shared risk contractual arrangement.
About You
Minimum of trade qualified and currently licensed in a building-related discipline (e.g. carpentry, electrical, plumbing).
Highly regarded, QBCC Licensed Site Supervisor Low Rise or QBCC Licensed Builder Low Rise.
Proven experience in housing maintenance, facilities management and team leadership.
Strong working knowledge of compliance frameworks, standards and legislative obligations.
Experienced in delivery of works in compliance with a business process and KPI frameworks.
Experienced in managing budgets, assets and digital work systems (e.g. SAP, Microsoft Suite).
Previous construction supervisory experience in a similar environment is essential.
