We are seeking a reliable and experienced pathology specimen transport professional to join our team. As a pathology courier, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of pathology samples, specimens, blood products, x-rays, vaccines, and clinical waste to and from medical centres, collection centres, nursing homes, hospitals, and veterinarian surgeries. This is a challenging role that requires strong interpersonal skills, excellent time management skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Pick-up and delivery of pathology samples, specimens, blood products, x-rays, vaccines, and clinical waste
* Liaise between referring medical practitioners and medical liaison officers with regards to store orders
* Preparation and delivery of reports and stock control in main laboratories
* Maintaining patient confidentiality and integrity
* Following operating procedure to complete correct specimen coding documentation
Requirements:
* Valid open Australian driver's license with an excellent driving record
* Ability to work various shifts including rostered weekends and public holidays
* Great interpersonal skills and strong written communication skills
* Excellent time management skills and physical capability to handle equipment weighing up to 15kg
* Previous courier experience is highly advantageous
* Hold a working with Children's Check or be willing to obtain one
* Must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident or a New Zealand citizen, or hold a valid visa with permission to work
