GEOSPATIAL RESOURCE & DATA MANAGEMENT ASSOCIATE

Responsibilities

Responsible in field data gathering and assisting in the encoding and processing of geospatial data. Performs periodic calibration and maintenance of surveying equipment.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

1. Oversight lifecycle, quality, and compliance

* Assists in geospatial and hazard-based analysis across the transmission asset lifecycle by gathering spatial data, preparing base maps, running assigned geoprocessing tasks, and supporting automated exposure analyses for project siting, route selection, construction, operation, and maintenance activities.
* Prepares hazard maps and exposure datasets and supports geospatial verification activities by encoding, updating, and validating spatial data inputs, checking alignment with NGCP resilience and technical standards, and assisting in the use of geospatial digital twins where applicable.
* Supports the incorporation of geospatial findings into corrective and preventive actions by compiling hazard-related observations, maintaining records of nonconformances, and assisting in documenting geospatial inputs to ensure digital traceability and continuous improvement across asset lifecycle processes.

2. Standards and technology advancement

* Assists in hazard mapping and resilience modelling activities by preparing base geospatial datasets, performing assigned data validation tasks, updating spatial layers, and executing approved geoprocessing workflows to support data accuracy, currency, and spatial integrity.
* Provides technical support for coordination with SSTD by compiling geospatial data inputs, references, and supporting materials for use in technical specifications, engineering guidelines, and smart grid–related documentation, in accordance with established standards.
* Supports pilot testing and implementation of emerging geospatial technologies by assisting in data collection, processing, basic analysis, and documentation for tools such as satellite analytics, LiDAR, UAV mapping, and automated flood or landslide modelling.

3. Data integration, analytics and technical advisory

* Assists in the integration of hazard, geospatial, and lifecycle datasets into TMTC's digital systems by collecting, encoding, and updating spatial and non-spatial data, performing basic data validation checks, and preparing assigned maps, tables, and visual outputs to support management reporting and regulatory submissions.
* Supports the consolidation of hazard maps and post-event records by organizing files, updating geospatial layers, maintaining databases and repositories, and ensuring that datasets are complete, properly labeled, and readily available for analytics and decision-support activities.
* Performs routine data quality checks by reviewing completeness, spatial alignment, attribute accuracy, and basic consistency of geospatial and hazard datasets prior to analysis or reporting.
* Assists in the preparation of standard reports, maps, and dashboards by populating approved templates, exporting analytical outputs, and compiling supporting datasets for review by Lead Specialists and Supervisors.
* Supports post-event data gathering and documentation by encoding field observations, uploading photos or survey results, and updating hazard and exposure records in accordance with established procedures.
Requirements
* College graduate in any B.S. Degree or any related course/field.
* GPS/GIS Remote Sensing and related training – 24 hours
* Two (2) years of relevant experience in Remote Sensing and/or GIS software applications pertaining to power transmission.
* Good comprehension skills.
* Physically able to conduct fieldwork and understand the technical accuracy of prepared plans and site verification of transmission assets.
* Able to collaborate and coordinate with corporate field offices and external agencies.
* Ability to multi-task
* Proficient in GIS & CAD operation.
