Role
This is a 6‐month fixed‐term, part‐time (0.92 FTE) position commencing Term 3, 2026 with possible extension (6 months) and/or permanency.
As a Special Needs Education Assistant, you will use excellent interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with teachers and other colleagues in creating an inclusive education program that accommodates the needs of students. The successful applicant should use initiative to support the delivery of planned education programmes, using their understanding of differentiation and intervention strategies to assist students with disabilities in accessing the curriculum. Experience in supporting students with diverse needs is highly desirable.
Responsibilities
Special Needs Education Assistants deliver individual and small‐group programmes, which may include the use of digital technologies or physical materials. Under teacher direction they employ innovative and unique strategies that promote inclusive learning, emotional regulation and general wellbeing. Experience in delivering a differentiated and engaging curriculum is well regarded. They also engage with external services and families to collaboratively plan for students' needs.

Qualifications and Experience
* A CV of up to three (3) pages outlining your employment history and professional learning summary relevant to this position.
* A four‐page statement addressing the following selection criteria as outlined in the attached JDF:
o Demonstrated good written and oral communication skills, including the ability to interact with students with special needs, parents and teaching professionals on the provision of educational programmes, and to assist teachers in understanding students where necessary.
o Demonstrated good interpersonal skills, including the ability to work as part of a team in the evaluation of educational programmes, including special education and therapy programmes where these have been implemented.
o Demonstrated good organisational skills that will assist in the delivery and development of effective education programmes to students and subsequent feedback to teaching professionals or psychologists.
o Demonstrated ability to assist teachers or therapists in implementing educational programmes, including special education and, if required, occupational and/or physiotherapy programmes.
o Demonstrated knowledge of health and physical disabilities in students and adolescents.
o Demonstrated ability to assist with general health and well‐being of students.
