Overview

QML Pathology (a part of Healius) is a network-based pathology provider with an expansive reach across metropolitan, regional and remote Australia. We provide a range of pathology services and support a large workforce across laboratories and patient collection centres.

Location: Gympie

What You Will Be Doing

As a Pathology Collector (Phlebotomist), you will collect blood and coordinate specimen samples from patients. You will deliver quality patient care with empathy and strong customer service, supported by the resources provided, and contribute to the local community you serve.

* Collect samples (blood and non-blood) with care and attention
* Keep meticulous records for every patient and sample
* Deliver documentation within strict turnaround times
* Prepare and package specimens for transport and testing
* Liaise with customers, clinic staff and couriers

What Type Of Person Will Be Successful

To be successful in this role, you will be an experienced Pathology Collector, or you will have gained a Cert III and be looking to embark on your Pathology Collection career. You could also be a Registered Nurse seeking daytime shifts.

No experience in Pathology Collection but with a customer service focus and a healthcare background? We can support your growth with fully paid training and mentoring. Bring the right attitude and we will bring the rest.

* Experience and knowledge in Phlebotomy or a Certificate III in Pathology Collection, or a healthcare background
* Excellent customer service and communication skills with high empathy
* Organised with strong time management and attention to detail
* Able to work autonomously, including in solo clinic settings
* Valid Driver's license and flexibility to travel to multiple clinics
* Working with Children's Check or willingness to obtain one
* Australian citizen or permanent resident, or NZ citizen, or valid visa with work rights

A valid Working With Children Check (WWCC) is required for this role. You must hold an existing WWCC or be willing to obtain one prior to commencing employment.

Vaccination Requirements

* Vaccine preventable disease evidence such as Hepatitis B is a requirement of this role
* Other vaccinations based on location may be required
