Role Overview
The Civil & Demolition Estimator plays a key role in supporting tendering and project delivery through accurate estimating, job costing, variation pricing, and technical documentation.
Key Responsibilities
* Preparation of detailed job costings for civil and demolition projects.
* Perform quantity take-offs based on drawings, specifications, and tender documents.
* Analyse project scope to identify risks, exclusions, and cost impacts.
* Prepare variation pricing and cost breakdowns.
* Develop accurate and competitive estimates for tender submissions.
* Conduct cost analysis of work activities to support budgeting and pricing decisions.
Demolition Methodology & Project Planning Support
* Develop and prepare demolition methodologies and technical proposals.
* Assist in defining safe and efficient sequencing of demolition works.
* Contribute to construction planning inputs where required.
* Support development of project delivery documentation.
Compliance, Safety & Quality
* Prepare SWMS and risk assessments in line with project requirements.
* Assist in preparation of ITPs and quality assurance documentation.
* Support responses to non-conformances and quality issues.
* Ensure estimating outputs comply with project specifications and safety standards.
Project Administration & Reporting
* Prepare project invoices and submit documentation to accounts teams.
* Maintain accurate estimating records, cost breakdowns, and project documentation.
* Support contract administration tasks as required.
* Assist with cost tracking and reporting throughout project lifecycle.
Requirements
* Strong experience within the construction industry, including exposure to contract administration, site management, or estimating roles.
* Solid understanding of demolition processes, earthworks, and civil construction methods.
* Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and contract documentation accurately.
* Strong capability in job costing, quantity take-offs, and variation pricing.
* Experience preparing SWMS, risk assessments, and other technical construction documentation.
* Strong analytical and numerical skills with high attention to detail.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast‐paced environment.
* Minimum 2 years of Australian construction or estimating experience is essential.
* Civil Engineering or Construction‐related qualification/background.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
