About the Role
As a Personal Care Worker, you will attend to the personal care needs of customers, with a focus on those requiring additional assistance due to physical limitations or frailty. You will provide manual handling support, deliver activities to enhance the physical, social, emotional, and intellectual development of customers, and supervise daily hygiene routines.
Responsibilities
* Focus on customers and residents using a person‐centered approach; demonstrate values of patience, empathy, and listening; respect each customer's diverse and unique needs.
* Attend to the personal care needs of customers, especially those with specific physical limitations or frailty.
* Identify and report changes in customers' circumstances and capacity to senior staff; monitor and record clients' vital signs and assist with medication management, including reminders and administration as prescribed.
* Provide manual handling assistance with daily tasks and support customers with daily hygiene routines, including showers or baths, shaving, and nail care.
* Assist customers with aids such as applying stockings or operating a ten‐machine.
Qualifications
* Studying toward a Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing) is desirable.
* Previous experience providing personal care services to individuals with physical or mental disabilities, elderly or chronically ill patients is desirable.
* Proficient in activities of daily living, person‐centered practice, medication administration and monitoring, and providing medical and personal support and care to patients/residents.
* Excellent analytical thinking, communication, customer experience, emotional intelligence, planning and prioritisation, and results‐orientation skills.
