Overview
The Red Hat Consulting team is looking for an OpenShift Consultant to join us in Adelaide, Australia. In this role, you will guide the on‐site delivery and implementation of innovative Red Hat technology, focusing on quality work that delivers a positive customer experience. You will build broad and deep technical expertise in one or more Red Hat technologies, gain an understanding of our customers' infrastructure and business needs—particularly the OpenShift Platform—and recommend appropriate solutions. As a key driver, you will implement enterprise‐scale container solutions that help customers build resilient, scalable, and secure application platforms, with direct and measurable impact.
Responsibilities
* Serve as a subject‐matter expert for Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) at the client site, addressing technical, developmental, or strategic IT needs.
* Implement sophisticated OpenShift solutions that integrate with a customer's existing infrastructure, including networking, storage, security, and identity management.
* Develop CI/CD pipelines and GitOps workflows to automate application delivery and ensure a consistent, repeatable deployment process.
* Continuously learn about new technologies and apply those concepts to customer needs.
* Produce quality results and provide support to multiple projects across diverse industries.
* Keep stakeholders updated on actual or potential issues that may affect project or company performance.
* Manage problem identification, system architecture definition, and software specification, as well as the design, testing, and deployment of open‐source solutions.
* Provide written project documentation that can be distributed within Red Hat and to the client management team.
* Adapt to changing customer requirements.
Required Skills
* Experience in a consulting or related role.
* Experience with enterprise‐wide deployments.
* Advanced knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
* Hands‐on expertise with Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) or open‐source equivalents, including installation, configuration, and day‐2 operations.
* Experience with DevOps and GitOps practices and related tools (e.g., Ansible, Jenkins, ArgoCD, Tekton).
* Demonstrated experience communicating value, progress, and metrics of key projects to required stakeholders and diverse audiences.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Exceptional analytical, problem‐solving, project‐management, and planning skills.
* Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or willingness to pursue certification within 90 days.
Requirements
* Must be an Australian citizen.
* Australian government security clearance at NV2 or above.
* Role is based in Adelaide and will require on‐site delivery.
