Are you a passionate and experienced Events Manager ready to take the lead in delivering unforgettable celebrations in one of the Sunshine Coast's most iconic waterfront venues? Noosa Boathouse is searching for a dynamic Function, Events & Weddings Manager to join our team and oversee a diverse range of events, from luxury weddings and corporate functions to bespoke private celebrations.
About the business
Located right on the Noosa River, Noosa Boathouse is a unique three-level floating venue offering breathtaking views, fresh coastal cuisine, and exceptional service. We host over 200 events a year and are known for delivering memorable experiences with style and professionalism.
Our 3 waterfront event spaces include the River Room (120 sit down, 220 cocktail), the Sunset Bar cocktail) and the Eastern Deck (30 sit down). We can host a variety of events ranging from an intimate dinner for 30 to a lavish affair for 350 spanning across all 3 levels. In peak season we often have a number of functions running simultaneously across the venue.
About the role
Reporting to the General Manager, this is a hands-on leadership role that oversees the full lifecycle of event bookings – from initial inquiry and site inspections through to planning and final hand-over to the function operations team. Your team will also include a dedicated administration and event assistant, providing valuable support to help you deliver seamless and successful events.
You'll be managing a vibrant events calendar, liaising with clients, coordinating suppliers, leading a small events & admin team, and ensuring every event is delivered to the highest standard. This role requires a motivated person with a minimum of 2 years experience in event management and maximising sales conversions.
Key Responsibilities:
* Respond to and convert function, event and wedding enquiries
* Manage bookings and client communications from initial enquiry through to post-event follow-up
* Coordinate event proposals, event orders, floor plans and AV requirements
* Work closely with kitchen and front-of-house teams to ensure smooth event delivery
* Conduct site inspections and client meetings
* Lead and mentor the events assistant and casual event supervisors
* Manage budgets, targets and achieve sales KPIs
* Maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers and industry professionals
* Briefing and handing over to Functions Operations Manager prior to the event
* Assisting in taking restaurant phone bookings and enquiries when required
What We're Looking For:
* Proven experience (min 2 years) in event or function management - weddings experience highly desirable
* Strong communication and customer service skills with a professional manner
* Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail
* Ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
* Confident using event software and CRM systems
* Previous experience in iVvy event management system is a bonus
* Proficiency in using Microsoft office products (outlook, word, excel, power point)
* Passion for hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences
