Kingsford Farms is a large, family-operated agricultural business with operations across feedlot, dairy, transport, and workshop divisions.
We are currently seeking Dairy Cattle Farm Operator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking daily dairy production activities, including milking, livestock care, machinery operation, and general farm maintenance. This role is hands‑on and requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Operate milking plant and equipment safely and efficiently.
* Read and record milk vat temperatures, cow numbers, and production data.
* Identify and report faults or equipment not operating normally.
* Feed, handle, and monitor livestock in line with welfare standards.
* Identify unwell or injured animals and report promptly.
* Assist with calving, feeding calves, and maintaining animal health routines.
* Maintain dairy machinery and infrastructure, including fencing, feed systems, and irrigation.
* Conduct basic repairs and adjustments to equipment and tools.
* Keep work areas clean, safe, and organised.
* Follow WHS policies, biosecurity procedures, and safe work practices.
* Use PPE correctly and report hazards or incidents immediately. Support a culture of safety awareness.
* Work cooperatively with other team members and supervisors.
* Communicate clearly, follow instructions, and support training of new staff.
* Participate in toolbox meetings and safety briefings.
* Maintain accurate records for milk production, livestock movements, and feed usage.
* Follow company procedures for clocking, leave, and reporting.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
* Ability to operate and maintain milking and dairy equipment.
* Sound knowledge of livestock handling and animal welfare standards.
* Basic mechanical and maintenance skills.
* Understanding of safe work and hygiene practices.
* Problem‑solving ability and attention to detail.
* Teamwork, reliability, and effective communication.
* Capacity to work early mornings, weekends, and rostered shifts.
QUALIFICATIONS, LICENCES & EXPERIENCE
* Minimum one (1) year of recent experience in dairy or livestock operations; or
* Certificate II or III in Agriculture or Dairy Production (or equivalent).
* Construction White Card (or willingness to obtain).
* Demonstrated understanding of safe work procedures.
