Our client, a well-established and proudly Australian-owned logistics company, has been delivering freight and warehousing solutions for over 35 years. With a strong reputation for service, safety, and culture, they are now seeking a driven Operations Manager to lead two key sites in Melbourne's southeast and west.

The role:
Based primarily at the Dandenong site, with regular travel to Truganina (2 days per week), you'll be responsible for ensuring the smooth, safe, and efficient running of day-to-day operations. You'll lead a team of dedicated staff, manage freight dispatch and delivery, and ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
* Overseeing freight dispatch, delivery, and tracking to ensure timely and safe outcomes
* Managing labour resources and operational costs to maximise efficiency
* Leading and mentoring staff to achieve high performance and accountability
* Building strong relationships with internal teams and subcontractors
* Enforcing compliance with NHVL, CoR, and company safety standards
* Driving a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence
About you:
You're a confident and capable leader with a strong background in transport operations. You thrive in fast-paced environments, know how to get the best out of your team, and are passionate about safety, service, and results.
To succeed in this role, you'll bring:
* Minimum 2 years' experience in an operations management or supervisory role
* Strong leadership and people management skills
* Excellent communication and coordination abilities
* Sound knowledge of National Heavy Vehicle Law and Chain of Responsibility
* A proactive, adaptable, and solutions-focused mindset
* A valid forklift licence (preferred but not essential)
