What does the job look like?
We are seeking a dependable Yard Hand to support our Service Centre operations.
This is a practical, all‐rounder role focused on keeping the yard organised, supporting vehicle movements and assisting the workshop. The truck wash is part of the role but not the primary focus.
Reporting to the Service Centre Manager, your responsibilities will include:
* Maintaining a clean, safe and organised yard and workshop surrounds
* Moving trucks, trailers and service vehicles between Linfox sites and external vendors
* Supporting workshop trades with general TA duties
* Operating the automatic truck wash when required
* Keeping wash and yard areas clean and presentable
* Supporting the day‐to‐day movement and flow of fleet through the Service Centre
* Following all safety standards and Chain of Responsibility requirements
What you need to be successful
We are looking for someone reliable, practical and confident around heavy vehicles.
* Current HC or MC truck licence (essential and non‐negotiable)
* Previous experience in a yard, workshop or transport environment
* Confidence moving trucks and trailers in tight yard spaces
* Ability to work independently and manage your time
* Strong work ethic and reliability
* Basic cleaning or equipment operation experience is beneficial
