About the role
Fabritecture is an Australian-based global specialist contractor delivering bespoke structural steel, fabric membrane and aluminium façade packages. Our work is technical, varied and rarely repetitive.
We are looking for a Business Development Manager to help manage a strong pipeline of opportunities and support continued growth in a specialist market.
This is not a generic outbound sales role. The role is focused on managing opportunities from enquiry through tender submission and handover. The right person will be able to read and understand scope, drawings, specifications and tender documents, work through pricing and proposal development with internal and external inputs and manage clients through the bid phase.
You might already be working in specialist subcontracting such as façades, structural steel, roofing, cladding, piling, formwork or similar bespoke construction packages. You may have sold or priced smaller or mid‐sized packages and be ready to step into more complex, higher‐value opportunities where detail matters and ownership matters.
What you'll be doing
Manage opportunities from enquiry through tender submission and handover
Review drawings, specifications, scopes and tender documents
Assess whether opportunities are worth pursuing and identify key risks, gaps and assumptions early
Coordinate and contribute to pricing, supplier input, design input and proposal development
Prepare clear qualifications, exclusions, clarifications and commercial submissions
Liaise with clients, builders, architects, consultants, suppliers and internal teams throughout the pre‐award process
Present proposals and respond to tender queries
Maintain accurate pipeline and opportunity records in CRM
Support clean handover of awarded work into delivery
What we're looking for
Experience in construction and specialist subcontracting in similar fields e.g.:
structural steel
roofing/cladding
piling
formwork
or similar bespoke project‐based construction environments
Ability to read and understand drawings, specifications, scopes and tender documents
Experience contributing to or managing estimating and proposal preparation
Strong commercial judgement and attention to detail
Ability to identify omissions, interfaces, risks and qualifications before submission
Ability to manage multiple opportunities at different stages without losing control of detail
Comfortable in a hands‐on business where ownership matters
