About the role
Working under the direction of the Chef / Cook, the Food Services Assistant plays a key role in supporting the Food Safety Program (FSP) and providing residents with nutritious, well‑prepared meals that meet their individual needs and preferences.
Key duties
- Assist with menu planning to meet residents’ needs and preferences
- Prepare, serve, present, and deliver meals and refreshments in line with the FSP
- Carry out general cleaning duties in accordance with food safety standards
- Assist with monitoring and recording requirements (e.g. temperatures, receipting goods)
- Ensure the friendly and timely delivery of meals and refreshments to residents
- Report any food or beverage concerns regarding residents to the Registered Nurse in Charge
Essential requirements
- Completed Food Handling Course (or willingness to obtain)
- Current National Police Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
Experience in residential aged care food services
To be considered for employment with Respect, candidates must also meet the legislative requirements of the Aged Care Worker Screening to ensure suitability to work in the aged care industry.
