As a Field Services Technician, you will be responsible for travelling to customer locations, primarily Brisbane, along with some locations typically in Toowoomba, Rockhampton and Mackay, to perform various services.
Primarily the service is the installation of thermal blankets to engines and mining machines, and related training and support for our customers, but will occasionally include emissions and exhaust parts replacements, visual audits, 3D scanning and thermography.
This role requires a blend of mechanical knowledge and aptitude, with great communication skills, and a commitment to quality work.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform in‐field installations of thermal blankets, exhaust parts, and emissions systems.
* Provide installation training and ongoing customer support.
* Conduct visual audits, 3D scans, thermography, and emissions/diesel particulate matter tests for accurate assessments.
* Collaborate with clients to assist with fire mitigation and cleaner air practices and product care.
* Advise customers on product selection and identify opportunities for upselling Aletek products and services.
* Schedule and manage your own workload effectively to meet client needs.
* Maintain a focus on delivering quality work efficiently and profitably.
* Be available to work overtime and weekends as needed.
* Mechanical background or experience in a similar role.
* Strong communication and training skills.
* Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
* Customer‐focused mindset with a drive for quality service.
* Willingness to travel and work on‐site in various locations.
Qualifications
* Interest in supporting the commercial team with hands‐on work.
* Experience and/or a keen interest in the mining sector.
* Proven working experience in a technical, hands‐on role.
* Ability to travel and be away from home (short stints).
