Teaching and Support (Fixed Term)
The position is full‐time, fixed‐term until 31.12.2026 with possible extension. The role involves delivering practical training, facilitating learning activities, assessing student competency, and providing mentoring and support throughout their training journey.
* 36.25 hrs/week (full‐time) covering teaching, preparation, marking and student support.
* Teaching time is typically 22 hrs/week, with up to 25 hrs by agreement – no more than 9 teaching hours in a day.
* Prep and marking are included in your paid hours – not done in your own time.
* Flexible start and finish times, planned around teaching needs, with flexibility supported where possible to accommodate personal, family and carer responsibilities.
What you'll need
* A relevant trade qualification in Metal Fabrication, Engineering, or a related discipline.
* A current Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122). (Desirable)
* Demonstrated current industry skills and experience directly relevant to welding and fabrication training delivery and assessment.
* Knowledge of the vocational education and training (VET) sector, with the ability to adapt to changing training requirements and industry needs.
* Ability to travel, if required, to support training delivery across CQUniversity campuses. Any travel would be infrequent and arranged in consultation with the Fabrication Team Leader.
Benefits
* Starting salary $107,697 pa (from $56.93/hr) + 17% superannuation.
* Progression to Senior VET Teacher (salary of $112,033 to $119,319) will only occur if an approved teaching qualification has been obtained.
