Role Overview
The Emergency Department Administration Officer plays a key role in supporting the delivery of safe, timely emergency administrative care by providing high‐quality administrative and customer service support in a fast‐paced clinical environment.
Responsibilities
* Collaborate closely with clinicians and support staff to ensure smooth patient flow and positive experiences for patients and families.
* Accurately register and admit patients, communicate effectively and handle sensitive information respectfully.
* Work a rotating roster comprising morning, afternoon and night shifts as a compulsory requirement.
* Communicate professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications and Experience
* Intermediate level administration skills (not an entry level role).
* Demonstrated commitment to delivering high‐quality, respectful customer service in a fast‐paced, patient‐focused environment.
* Advanced interpersonal communication skills to work in a multidisciplinary environment with patients, families, clinicians and colleagues.
* Highly organized with the ability to multitask, manage competing priorities and work effectively under pressure.
* Proven administrative experience with strong computer and data entry skills, including use of hospital or administrative information systems.
* Reliable, adaptable team player who can work independently and is available for a 24/7 rotating roster.
