Environmental Health Officer ********) Mackay, Australia
Salary: AUD***** - AUD***** per annum + Up to 18% Superannuation
We are currently seeking a committed and qualified Environmental Health Officer to join our team in a full-time capacity.
This role plays a vital part in safeguarding public health by identifying and managing environmental health risks within the community.
About this opportunity
As an Environmental Health Officer, you will:
Monitor and enforce environmental health regulations.
Conduct inspections of food premises, public facilities, and other relevant sites.
Investigate complaints and incidents, taking appropriate action.
Provide expert advice and support to businesses and the public.
Collaborate with internal departments and external agencies.
Maintain detailed records and prepare reports.
Participate in public health education and outreach initiatives.
Applicants must be available for on-call duties.
Council is committed to the safety of its employees and requires an immunisation program for identified roles.
The successful applicant will be required to attend a post-employment immunisation assessment, by a health practitioner nominated and paid for by the Council.
Essential Qualifications, Experience & Skills
Bachelor of Health Science (Environmental Health) or equivalent qualification eligible for Environmental Health Australia membership.
Demonstrated experience in environmental health or a related field.
Sound understanding of relevant legislation, regulations, and codes of practice.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing competing priorities effectively.
