Role Overview
The Compliance Officer will be part of a dynamic team responsible for:
* Supporting compliance monitoring activities.
* Coordinating the collection and quality assurance of sector data.
* Assisting in the preparation of reports and templates to support continuous improvement through education and engagement.
* Liaising with local governments to contribute to operational improvements and support the delivery of communications and guidance materials.
* Strengthening compliance processes, supporting regulatory oversight, and contributing to public confidence in the local government sector.
* Coordinating, analysing, and managing data and documentation processes.
* Communicating effectively with diverse stakeholders and collaborating across multidisciplinary teams.
Eligibility
To be eligible for a permanent appointment applicants must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or have a visa to live and work indefinitely in Australia at the time of application. Applicants with a valid visa to work and live in Australia for a specific duration may be assessed and considered suitable for similar fixed‐term vacancies that arise.

Should a qualification be required, applicants must provide certification and/or academic transcripts to verify relevance to the job requirements. Qualifications obtained outside of Australia must be assessed by the Overseas Qualifications Unit to ensure they meet Australian standards.
Applicants must consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain clearance before starting. If deemed suitable, the organization will coordinate and pay for the NCCHC as part of the pre‐employment checks.
