Alloy Melting Specialist
Key Responsibilities:
* Maintain and operate 6.5 and 8 ton Vacuum Furnaces at efficient and safe levels to produce alloys meeting metallurgical specifications.
* Preparation: Verify paperwork, notify personnel of low raw materials levels, check and maintain furnaces, prepare master heats according to specifications, load material into charge cans.
* Melting: Charge furnace with virgin and revert materials, take samples for analysis, adjust composition using the Alloy Blend System, operate furnace to pour alloy ingots.
* Equipment Maintenance: Maintain melting coils, furnace linings, power leads, water cooling system, hydraulic system, vacuum pumping system, and pumps.
* Documentation: Complete accurate production logs, equipment records, and reports.
* Quality and Safety: Ensure all production and quality standards are met, perform safety tasks, adhere to plant and department safety rules, provide work direction and supervision as assigned.
