About the Role
School Learning Support Officers are employed to provide targeted support for students with diverse learning needs.
* They may work in classrooms and other learning environments under the direction of a teacher, supporting students with identified disabilities.
* Specific support is provided for pre-school, vision support, hearing support and bilingual settings as needed.
The role requires effective communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with students who have emotional, physical or intellectual disabilities.
Key Responsibilities
* Supporting students with diverse learning needs in educational settings.
* Providing tailored support for students in pre-school, vision support, hearing support and bilingual settings.
* Collaborating with teachers to develop and implement individualized plans for students with disabilities.
Requirements
* A Working with Children Check clearance.
* Completion of mandatory training required by the Department of Education.
* Training will be provided for administration of medications based on student needs.
* Health support training will be provided based on student needs.
