About the Opportunity

We are seeking a Workshop Service Technician to join our team based in Dandenong South. The position holder will be assisting the Workshop Manager to run and maintain the workshop facility and participate in the workflow of reworks, conversions, and special projects. In addition, the person will provide service support to customers, dealers & company personnel as well as technical advice, instructions, and assistance in the areas of product service, warranty, performance and installation of Mercury Marine products.

Responsibilities

* Workflow and completion of conversions, reworks, miscellaneous engine repairs, boat rigging and special product developments & testing
* Supervision and training of Apprentice Technicians
* Ensuring that company boats are properly maintained and serviced
* Ensuring that workshop activities meet quality requirements
* Handling of product technical enquiries, assistance with troubleshooting and problem solving
* Assisting with the setup of service schools, dealer technician training and company personnel training

Qualifications

* Certificate III in Marine Mechanics or equivalent
* Have graduated from High School / Secondary School / Technical School
* 1-2 years in service related capacity (dealership experience desirable)
* Good communication, negotiating and training skills
* Be able to diagnose and analyse service problems encountered by customer and service organisation and provide accurate repairs and/or information to alleviate the problems.
* Proficiency in MS Office products
* Active interest and participation in recreational power boating or related (desirable)
