About the role
BBLALC is seeking an experienced and culturally grounded CEO to lead the organisation’s strategic, operational, financial and community outcomes. The role includes governance, land and economic development, stakeholder engagement, and oversight of the Walbunja Rangers Program.
Applicants should demonstrate
* Senior leadership experience
* Strong understanding of Aboriginal community control and governance
* Financial and organisational management capability
* High-level communication and stakeholder engagement skills
* Experience within Aboriginal organisations, land management, enterprise development, project management skills is desirable
What you will be doing
* Providing strategic leadership and vision for the organisation
* Overseeing the day-to-day operations and management of the organisation
* Developing and implementing policies, procedures and business plans to achieve the organisation's goals
* Building and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders, including local government, community groups and funding bodies
* Leading and managing the organisation's staff, ensuring they are supported and empowered to deliver their best work
* Ensuring the organisation remains compliant with all relevant legislation and regulations
* Representing the organisation at public events and in the media as required
What we are looking for
* Extensive experience in a senior leadership role, preferably within the not-for-profit or community services sector
* Proven track record of developing and implementing successful strategic plans
* Strong financial management and business acumen
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skillsDemonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team
* Deep understanding of the challenges and issues facing Aboriginal communities
* Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field such as business, management or community development
