About the Role
As the
Senior Program Manager – Network and Communications
, you'll oversee the successful delivery of complex ICT programs that modernise network infrastructure, improve cloud integration, and enhance communication capabilities across a large distributed organisation.
This leadership role involves end-to-end accountability — from program design, vendor engagement, and budget control, to technical execution and stakeholder management.
You'll be driving initiatives across
cloud environments, data centres, branch offices, and operational sites
, ensuring outcomes are strategically aligned and technically sound.
You'll collaborate closely with senior leaders, architects, and technical specialists to implement best-in-class networking solutions, including
Software Defined Networks, Cloud Connectivity, Security Services (Firewalls, SIEMS, IDS/IPS)
, and
Wi-Fi modernisation
.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver major network and communications programs, ensuring they align with strategic objectives and regulatory frameworks.
Provide leadership and direction to technical teams and project resources, fostering collaboration and accountability.
Oversee program budgets, costs, and resourcing to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery.
Lead complex vendor and stakeholder engagement, influencing decision-making across departments and external partners.
Drive organisational uplift in project and change management capabilities.
Present program updates, insights, and recommendations to senior governance bodies and executive stakeholders.
Ensure compliance with all policies, standards, and safety protocols across the program lifecycle.
About You
You're a
strategic, technically astute program leader
who thrives in complex environments.
You combine deep networking expertise with exceptional communication and leadership skills.
You'll bring:
Proven experience leading
large-scale network and communications upgrades
(100+ sites) — ideally in health, emergency services, or government.
Expertise in
Cloud Networking
,
SDN
,
LAN/WAN
,
VPN
, and
Cybersecurity solutions
.
Strong understanding of
regulatory and compliance frameworks
relevant to ICT transformation.
Experience managing
Senior Network Engineers and Architects
in large technical programs.
Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or
Project Management certifications
.
Knowledge of
Agile delivery practices
.
Excellent stakeholder engagement, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Current driver licence and willingness to travel within Victoria as required.
