Land Conservation Specialist
This role requires a Land Services Officer RiverKeeper to work collaboratively with traditional owners, Local Aboriginal Land Councils, landholders, and the community in developing projects for riparian restoration works that incorporate strong community engagement and cultural outcomes.
* The successful applicant will provide timely and effective frontline community consultation, engagement, and extension services.
* They will collect and collate data, analyse information, and provide accurate and balanced advice on natural resource management issues.
* The specialist will build partnerships and support collaboration internally and with partners to address Hunter riparian projects effectively.
* Additionally, they will assist with emergency management by supporting activities to prevent, prepare for, respond to, and recover from emergencies.
Key Responsibilities:
* Community Consultation: The Land Services Officer RiverKeeper will engage with traditional owners, Local Aboriginal Land Councils, landholders, and the community to develop and implement riparian restoration works that align with community needs and values.
* Natural Resource Management: The officer will collect and collate data, analyse information, and provide accurate and balanced advice on natural resource management issues.
* Project Coordination: They will coordinate and facilitate partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to deliver Hunter riparian projects effectively.
* Emergency Support: The specialist will provide support during emergency situations, assisting with prevention, preparedness, response, and recovery efforts.
Qualifications and Skills:
