Responsibilities

The Application Support Specialist will analyze, evaluate, modify, test and implement site-wide information systems, and support the Operating System. The role will respond to user and system problems, prepare application system specifications, and identify, plan, implement and coordinate system upgrades, enhancements or maintenance. The specialist will provide first and second level end‐user support on a wide range of systems, including business applications, internet/intranet and web‐based applications. The position will maintain and configure virtual servers and hardware, Cisco Call Manager, VoIP phones and user accounts, and maintain accurate inventory of all IT equipment and network configurations. The specialist will troubleshoot hardware and software issues with printers, laptops and desktop PCs, set up computers with software, security patches and email accounts, and provide technical support for Microsoft Windows 2012/Win7 and Linux operating systems. Duties also include correcting system network problems, coordinating corrective action with third‐party vendors, supporting remote access issues (FTP, RDP, VPN), documenting IT procedures and generating manuals for custom applications, contacting IT vendors and consultants, providing low‐level support for internal applications such as Microsoft Access, PHP, JSP, SQL, researching and negotiating pricing for IT purchases, and ensuring health and safety practices at the workplace.

Qualifications and Experience
* Year 12 completion.
* CompTIA Security+ certification.
* Formal qualifications in Computer Science or Information Technology, or equivalent demonstrated experience.
* MCSE/MCSA, Red Hat Linux certification, Network+ certification, ITIL Foundations certificate, VMWare certification, or equivalent experience.
* Minimum of 3 years of experience in application support.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with varied stakeholders.
* Experience with MS Office, VMware, and Linux operating systems.
* Understanding of TCP/IP and networks.
* Knowledge of HTML, XHTML, CSS, MySQL, PHP, JSP, Oracle (helpful).
* End‐user support skills.
Required Licenses and Certifications
* Drivers license.
* CPR.
* White Card.
* Confined Space Working at Heights.
* Forklift license.
* Elevated Work Platform.
* First Aid.
Physical Demands

Typical office environment with no unusual hazards, occasional lifting up to 10kg, kneeling, standing and walking, routinely sitting and constant use of speech/hearing. The employee may walk, sit, use hands, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and talk or hear, and occasionally stand.

Security Clearance Requirement

Employees must obtain and retain the appropriate level of security clearance and medical clearance applicable to the role, including Top‐Secret Positive Vetting (TSPV) Department of Defence Security Clearance (Australian) or TS/SCI (U.S.) clearance with Poly.
