Role Purpose
The Disability Support Worker role at CPA exists to provide high-quality, person-centered support to people with disabilities. You will empower clients to live as independently as possible, helping them to achieve their goals and supporting their day-to-day wellbeing, dignity and quality of life.
About the Clients
CPA SIL houses typically accommodate 3–6 clients ranging from their early 20s to mature-aged. Clients may have Cerebral Palsy, Autism, Down syndrome, and other intellectual or physical disabilities. Some present with varying levels of medical needs and behaviours, requiring varying levels of support.
Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Disability Support Worker to join our Accommodation and Respite service at the Thornleigh group home. This is a Permanent Part-Time opportunity, approximately 24 hours per week across an overnight shift, with start times of 10:00pm or 11:00pm and finish times of 6:00am or 7:00am.
Key Responsibilities
* Support clients with daily living tasks, including cooking, mealtimes, cleaning, and general household activities
* Provide personal care in a respectful and dignified manner (e.g., showering, toileting)
* Administer medication in line with care plans
* Assist with mobility and manual handling, including the use of specialised equipment such as hoists
* Monitor and document client wellbeing, reporting any changes
* Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain a supportive and positive team environment
* Shift times: Awake overnight 10:00pm – 6:00am

Essential Criteria
* Commitment to person-centered care
* Current NSW Driver's Licence (minimum P2)
* Ability to meet the inherent physical requirements of the role
* Willingness to work a rotating roster
* NDIS Worker Screening Check
* Working With Children Check
* First Aid & CPR (or relevant certification)
