Position: Floor Finisher

The company specialises in high-quality carpet, flooring, and window furnishing installations, delivering durable and visually appealing results for residential and commercial clients.
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Floor Finisher to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, finishing, and maintaining a wide range of floor coverings to a high professional standard. This role requires precision, technical skill, and the ability to work with various flooring materials in both residential and commercial settings.
Key Responsibilities
* Measure floor areas accurately, interpret site plans, and calculate material requirements to minimise waste and control project costs.
* Prepare subfloor surfaces for installation, including removing existing coverings, levelling uneven surfaces, and removing baseboard trims.
* Measure, cut, and install underlay materials according to specification, ensuring proper cushioning, moisture protection, and durability.
* Install a variety of floor coverings including carpets, linoleum, vinyl, parquetry blocks, cork tiles, and other resilient flooring materials.
* Match patterns, align seams, and ensure smooth, seamless finishes across all flooring installations.
* Cut and shape materials to fit around fixtures, corners, hearths, and irregular spaces while maintaining clean edges and professional finishes.
* Secure floor coverings and install edge trims in doorways and transition areas.
* Sand, stain, and apply protective finishing coatings to timber flooring where required.
* Mix and apply resin-based flooring systems according to manufacturer specifications.
* Polish concrete floors to achieve a smooth, durable, and high-quality finish when required.
* Install wall, ceiling, counter, and bench coverings as part of specialised projects when required.
* Maintain clean and safe work areas and ensure all tools and equipment are properly handled and maintained.
Requirements
* Minimum 3 years of relevant experience as a Floor Finisher, Flooring Installer, or similar role.
* Strong knowledge of flooring materials, installation techniques, and finishing methods.
* Ability to read and interpret site plans and measurements accurately.
* Skilled in cutting, shaping, and installing a variety of flooring products.
* Experience with timber finishing, resin flooring, and surface preparation highly regarded.
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Physically fit and able to work in demanding construction environments.
* Strong understanding of workplace safety and hygiene standards.
