Position

We are looking for an organised and adaptable Ward Clerk to join our Day Surgery Unit on a permanent full‐time or part‐time basis.

This role provides comprehensive administrative and clerical support to ward staff under the direction of the Nurse Unit Manager and supports both inpatient and outpatient services across all wards.

Responsibilities
* To be responsible for the patients' medical record. This will involve:
o Gaining the co‐operation of the medical, para‐medical and nursing staff.
o Keeping all patients' medical record up‐to‐date.
o Filing into the patients' medical record the results of examinations, such as x‐ray reports, Pathology reports.
o Co‐operating with the Medical Record Department at all times.
o Taking completed patients' medical record to the Medical Record Department following discharge of patient.
* Report all unusual incidents, accidents, losses or complaints to senior nursing staff.
* Answer telephone in Nurses' Station, refer calls to concerning patients to the Charge Nurse.
* Oracle ordering as required / Stationery ordering.
* Checking and processing MBS item numbers.
* Managing emails.
* UKG rostering and pays.
* Scanning department paperwork for archiving.
* General duties assisting nursing staff in the department.
* Coordinate transfers and discharges to ensure efficient patient flow.
* Use initiative, demonstrate reliability, work independently and coordinate with minimal supervision.

* Salary: $60,173 to $61,903 (pro rata for part‐time roles) plus 12% superannuation.
