Gnaala Karla Booja Aboriginal Corporation and GKB Impact are seeking an experienced and motivated Group Accountant to join the team in Bunbury.
About the Role
The Group Accountant will provide both entities with sound financial advice, strategic financial planning, operational management of the organisations' finances, support the preparation of the annual budgets, prepare monthly financial reports for the boards, assist in the preparation of grant reporting and funding acquittals, and oversee internal finance staff.
Key Duties
* Whole of management and oversight of each entities finances
* Management of funds cross charged between entities
* Preparation of monthly reports for each division manager, as well as each respective board
* Management of grant and funding program financial performance reports and acquittals
* Identification, development and implementation of financial processes and procedures
* Management of future direct reports as we build internal financial capabilities
* Management of debtors to ensure timely invoicing as well as aged debtors
* Management of creditors to ensure invoices are paid in a timely manner
* Management of payroll
* Preparation and lodgement of BAS, annual financial reports, fringe benefits tax return, and any other statutory reporting obligations
* Assist the GKB Impact CEO in financially modelling new business ventures
* Assist the CEO's with financial forecasts, including cashflow
Essential Criteria
1. CPA or CA qualified with a minimum of 5 years' experience in a senior finance role.
2. Strong working knowledge of the Corporations Act, at Corporations (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander) Act as it relates to financial obligations.
3. Strong working knowledge of Accounting Standards as they relate to the not-for-profit sector and ORIC & ACNC reporting requirements.
4. Demonstrated ability to lead financial strategy in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.

Desirable Criteria
1. GKB member, or member of one of the other five Regional Corporations.
2. Experience in not-for-profit and/or Aboriginal community-controlled organisation's.
3. Strong understanding of government funding, grant management, and Indigenous governance frameworks.
The Group Accountant role is being offered as two part time (0.5 FTE) engagements with each respective organsiation.
In combination, the benefits include:
* Total cash remuneration of $145,000-$165,000 per annum
* 5 weeks annual leave, plus additional Christmas Shut Down Leave
