About The Role

Band 3 Role - Final salary offering to be discussed with the preferred candidate based on skills and experience

TasNetworks is seeking an experienced Lines Work Inspector to support the safe, high‐quality delivery of construction activities across the North West Transmission Developments (NWTD). In this field‐based role, you will provide on‐site oversight, technical assurance, and quality verification for new transmission and distribution line construction, ensuring all works meet TasNetworks' design standards, safety requirements, and project milestones. Working closely with contractors, project engineers, and site supervisors, you will help ensure that overhead line assets are constructed to specification, risks are managed effectively, and all activities support the safe and reliable operation of the Tasmanian network.

What You'll Do
* Inspect construction works — Conduct routine and detailed inspections of transmission and distribution line construction to verify compliance with project specifications and standards.
* Monitor contractor performance — Assess workmanship, identify non‐conformances, and support corrective actions to maintain quality and safety.
* Ensure safety and environmental compliance — Verify adherence to safety legislation, environmental obligations, and TasNetworks' service delivery standards.
* Support outage and reliability activities — Participate in incident investigations, risk assessments, and network reliability responses as required.
* Collaborate with project teams — Liaise with contractors, engineers, and supervisors to support timely delivery of project milestones.
* Provide reporting and documentation — Complete inspection reports, verification checks, and documentation to support project governance and quality assurance.
About You

You have the linesperson baseline, construction and asset-based experience you are possibly our unicorn. You are an experienced transmission line construction professional who brings strong technical capability, practical field experience, and a commitment to safe, high‐quality work. You're confident working independently across remote or dispersed project sites and have a solid understanding of overhead line construction in both live and de‐energised environments.

You bring a collaborative, solutions‐focused approach to working with contractors and project teams, and you're comfortable identifying issues, escalating risks, and supporting corrective actions. You understand drawings, network configurations, and construction standards, and you take pride in ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently, and to specification.

You Will Also Bring
* Certificate III in ESI – Transmission Overhead
* Experience in transmission or distribution construction or maintenance
* Ability to interpret technical documentation and drawings
* Licences such as HR, EWP, and relevant industry qualifications
* Strong teamwork and independent work capability
* Commitment to safety, quality, and compliance

Experience in the Civil and Vegetation space would be highly regarded but not essential.

What's on Offer

This is a permanent full‐time opportunity, based in Tasmania with an attractive remuneration and benefits package. The role will be based out of Devonport with the requirement to be onsite most weekdays.

* 20 days of annual leave per year + an additional 3 days of leave between Christmas and New Year
* Electricity discount of 16.66%
* Career development — including access to our own RTO
* Overtime opportunities
* An annual health and wellbeing rebate
* All the tools and equipment you need to be successful
