Nepean Hospital is seeking a motivated Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2 to lead and coordinate clinical trial activities within our Haematology and Oncology services. This position on offer is Temporary Full time until April 2028.
As a Clinical Nurse Specialist – Clinical Trials, you will provide expert Nursing Care, Leadership, and coordination in the conduct of Clinical Trials for patients. This dynamic role bridges clinical care and research, ensuring high-quality data collection and optimal patient outcomes.
This is a collaborative role, based within the Clinical Trials unit, that takes responsibility for coordinating all aspects of care both during and after clinical trial participation. Your role is responsible for liaising with the Haematology/Oncology Clinical team, other members of the Clinical Trials unit, Trial Sponsor, Research Directorate and members of the multidisciplinary care team, including care co-ordinators.

What You Will Bring To The Role
* Current registration to practice as a Registered Nurse / Midwife (Division 1) with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA).
* Relevant post-registration qualifications in Haematology/Oncology Nursing/Clinical trials, and at least 3 years’ experience working in the clinical area of the specified post-graduate qualification, or such other qualifications or equivalent experience deemed appropriate.
* Demonstrated ability to co-ordinate care, and knowledge of evidence-based medicine, ideally including a broad knowledge of research processes and methodology in the Haematology/Oncology clinical trials space.
* High computer literacy skills and extensive experience in using Microsoft Office Suite (including Teams and SharePoint) as well as familiarity and or experience in using electronic patient record systems. Experience with research management systems such as REDCap, REGIS and the NSW Health Clinical Trials Management System would be an advantage.
* Highly collaborative, with demonstrated problem solving, conflict resolution and decision-making capacity.
* Demonstrated ability to communicate in a professional manner with many different stakeholders, including strong written and interpersonal communication skills.
* Demonstrated evidence of integration of theoretical knowledge and clinical skills, critical thinking and analysis in their daily practice.
* Ability to work independently and within a team, with minimal supervision maintaining involvement within the wider multidisciplinary team.
Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified and must not exceed the duration or conditions associated with the current visa.
