About the Role
Reporting to the Health, Safety & Environment Manager, the Environmental Advisor is responsible for managing environmental performance across a large and complex manufacturing site, with a strong focus on wastewater operations and regulatory compliance.
This role provides the opportunity to step into a position with real ownership early in your career – leading day-to-day environmental compliance activities and overseeing the performance of the site's wastewater Treatment Plant. You will also lead a small team of wastewater Treatment Plant Operators, ensuring systems, processes and reporting meet both internal standards and regulatory requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
* Managing the day-to-day performance of the wastewater Treatment Plant
* Ensuring operations meet licence conditions, environmental regulations and company standards
* Monitoring environmental results and addressing operational issues
* Maintaining environmental management systems and reporting frameworks
* Driving continuous improvement across environmental processes and systems
* Supporting environmental planning, budgeting and site initiatives
* Working with regulators, auditors and internal stakeholders on compliance matters
About You
This opportunity will suit an early-career environmental professional looking to build their experience within a large operational manufacturing environment. You may have recently completed a degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering or a related discipline and have begun building practical experience within industry.
You will likely bring:
* 1–2 years' experience in an environmental, sustainability or operational support role ideally gained within the industrial sector (not essential)
* Exposure to wastewater treatment, environmental monitoring or compliance
* Strong data analysis and reporting capability
* Understanding of environmental management systems and regulatory requirements
* Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
* Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with operational teams
* A proactive mindset and desire to develop your career in a site-based role
