About the Business Unit
Located at Castlemaine, Loddon Prison is a 477 bed Medium Security Prison for sentenced male prisoners. Adjacent to Loddon Prison is Middleton, a 236 bed Restricted Minimum‐Security Prison for sentenced male prisoners. The focus of both prisons is rehabilitation via individual case management, employment, education, training and the provision of programs and targeted interventions to address offending behaviour and promote the development of prosocial behaviour. Both prisons provide contemporary and quality correctional services that prepare prisoners for transition and reintegration.
About the Role
As an Industry Supervisor – Kitchen / Self catering, you will oversee the provision of the kitchen and food operations industry, lead staff and provide supervision and training to people in prison employed in industries.
Responsibilities
* Deliver safe and efficient kitchen operations that meet production targets.
* Lead a team and provide hands‐on coaching and support.
* Supervise and train people in prison in food preparation and equipment use.
* Maintain stock control, records and compliance with rules.
* Promote rehabilitation through work, training and daily routines.
Qualifications
* Hold a relevant trade or industry qualification, or have strong kitchen or catering experience.
* Willingness to complete prison officer pre‐service training.
* Strong kitchen or catering experience and up‐to‐date skills.
* Good problem‐solving ability and the capacity to improve work processes.
* Clear communication skills and ability to guide others.
* Calm, adaptable approach and respect for people from all backgrounds.
