About Us
Cancer Trials Australia (CTA) is a not-for-profit member-based organisation consisting of 33 clinical sites and 3 medical research institutes across Australia and New Zealand. We support the administration and management of clinical trials across both metropolitan and regional hospitals. We work in close partnership with clinical research sites, Sponsors and Contract Research Organisations to ensure patients can gain access to appropriate clinical trials as quickly as possible. About the Role
As part of the Operations team, you will gain highly sought-after skills in the set-up of clinical trials and take ownership of the contract review process, including associated budget negotiation and management.
Our Contracts Specialists (internally known as Budget and Contracts Specialists) liaise closely with Research teams (Study Coordinators, Principal Investigators, and Research Unit Managers) at Clinical Research Sites, as well as with the site's internal supporting departments (radiology, pathology, pharmacy, etc.) in conjunction with other external stakeholders. You will also nurture strong relationships with local and global CRO's, as well as national and international biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies.
Responsibilities
Prepare clinical trial budgets according to clinical site requirements and negotiate these with CROs and biotech/pharmaceutical companies.
Review and negotiate Clinical Trial Research Agreements (CTRA's).
Liaise with clinical sites' internal supporting departments, external service providers, research teams/management and legal counsel.
Maintain active communication with internal and external stakeholders to provide a consultative approach to issues raised.
About You
The ideal candidate will have excellent administration and communication skills with a strong focus on customer service. You will be a team player, who thrives in delivering quality outcomes to clients.
Qualifications and Experience
At least 12 months' experience in a medical or related administrative role
Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with a demonstrated ability to influence others;
A commitment to quality and the ability to maintain excellent working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders;
Strong proficiency in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite (in particular, demonstrated skills in excel) and previous exposure to database applications;
Excellent attention to detail;
Highly developed organisational and time management skills;
Tertiary qualification in Health, Life Sciences, or other related qualifications, (preferred but not essential).
NOTE: The successful applicant will also be required to supply a current National Police Check.
