AWS is seeking a talented, self‑directed Head of Startup Marketing to join the APAC Marketing team. In this role, you will be responsible for defining the APJ marketing strategy and helping AWS drive success among startups across APJC. The role will lead a team in creating and executing demand generation programs and campaigns, working closely with our corporate teams including the integrated marketing team, sales, solution architect and business development teams to drive engagement with startups across GEO. Ideally, you are someone that has experience working with startup companies, VC firms and incubators. You have an innate understanding for entrepreneurs, company founders and technical decision makers at early‑stage companies. You are knowledgeable about current state‑of‑the‑art cloud and AI technologies and understand how technical decisions impact the success of fledgling companies. You also have a track record of leading teams and building successful, metrics‑driven, scalable, customer‑centric marketing programs.
With the rapid pace of innovation at AWS, a successful candidate must be flexible and agile enough to meet the rapid pace of service launches and product updates. The candidate must be organized and programmatic in their approach, understand our services and products and manage the programs and campaigns launch schedule.
Key job responsibilities
* Build an APJ engagement strategy for startups that is aligned with the goals of the AWS’s sales and business development teams.
* Create and successfully drive awareness, adoption, and usage of AWS through innovative, scalable and leverage platform programs.
* Lead and develop a team of high‑performance marketers.
* Work with the regional teams to execute on the APJ startup marketing programs and campaigns to drive business growth and achieve revenue targets across APJ.
* Collaborate closely with cross‑functional and regional teams to design and implement programs and campaigns that positively impact business growth and enhance AWS reputation.
* Collaborate with AWS business development, sales and customer support teams to ensure that startup customers have an exemplary experience on AWS.
Basic Qualifications
* 10+ years of professional non‑internship marketing experience
* Experience managing teams
* Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements
* Experience driving direction and alignment with cross‑functional teams
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience communicating results to senior leadership
* Experience directly managing teams
