POSITION DESCRIPTION POSITION: Counter Sales Representative POSITION REPORTS TO: National Manager LOCATION: Clayton POSITION PURPOSE The basic responsibility of a Trade Salesperson is to provide quality customer service support to all branch customers, ensuring their business needs are met by providing adequate technical and product advice when fulfilling their sales needs. The role also encompasses duties of helping out in the warehouse/store with stock handling and movement. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES / ACCOUNTABILITIES Trade Sales Deliver best practice professional customer service that ensures customers’ purchasing requirements are met and satisfaction is assured. Keep customers informed of new initiatives, product changes, or marketing campaigns. Provide correct and updated product advice. Ensure the branch is maintained to housekeeping standards as set by the National Manager. Assist with scheduled and ad hoc stocktakes when required. Maintain branch security (open and lock up) as directed by the Branch Manager or Branch Supervisor. Ensure the highest standard of customer satisfaction at all times (measured through formal customer surveys). Maintain a good working knowledge of Oracle. Attend all required training sessions and participate in any external training set by the company. Ensure WHS standards are maintained as per State Legislation and company standards. Assist with general administrative and/or other duties as reasonably assigned by the Branch Manager or Branch Supervisor. Be available to work at any other branch upon the direction of the National Manager, National Sales Manager, or Branch Manager (Inter-Branch Transfers – ITB). Store/Warehouse Receive incoming goods, check for damages or discrepancies between received goods and invoices. Label all goods received and allocate to correct storage locations. Ensure all goods are correctly stored. Operate equipment safely to lift goods to high levels. Operate manual and electronic order pickers safely and verify items against packing lists. Assist with stocktakes to ensure accuracy of recorded information. Package and dispatch all outgoing goods according to company and customer requirements. Assist internal customers with timely internal and external deliveries. Ensure all activities are performed safely. People Management and Teamwork Communicate effectively and work in a team environment. Motivate team members to perform at their best. Foster a positive environment for team members and customers. Maintain good ethics and professionalism to earn the respect of customers and colleagues. Demonstrate effective performance management skills as needed. Environmental Health and Safety General Responsibilities Ensure the safety of self and others. Comply with company standards. Participate in Environmental Health and Safety activities. Help achieve Environmental Health and Safety targets. Work harmoniously with others, respecting their rights and company policies. Specific Tasks Use and wear safety equipment at all times. Follow safe operating procedures. Participate in the local Crisis Management System. Report safety incidents immediately. Participate in special teams and working groups as required. Follow company practices such as those outlined in the Code of Ethics and Conflict of Interest handbooks. Raise any ethical concerns through the BPO or Dialog program. Complete at least 4 modules of online ethics training. General Requirements Follow company policies including Email and Computer Compliance and Intellectual Property Agreement. Present professionally at all times (appearance, speech, dress, etc.). Wear and maintain the required uniform to a clean and professional standard. Maintain confidentiality regarding employee information and personal data.
