About This Opportunity
The Administration Officer within Indigenous Employment plays a vital role in supporting UQ's commitment to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employment and reconciliation. Working closely with the Principal Advisor, Senior Manager, Indigenous Employment and across the Indigenous Engagement Division, this role provides high‐quality administrative, financial, and coordination support that enables meaningful engagement activities, events, and employment initiatives across UQ.
Key Responsibilities
* Providing administrative and logistical support for engagement activities and events, including seminars, workshops, conferences, and network gatherings
* Coordinating event logistics such as venue bookings, catering, and attendee management
* Supporting Indigenous Employment recruitment, onboarding, and promotion activities
* Managing the Indigenous Employment inbox and triaging enquiries from internal stakeholders
* Undertaking general office administration, records management, and data coordination
About You
The University of Queensland considers it essential that the person is an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person. * A relevant qualification (Diploma or undergraduate degree) or an equivalent combination of skills, training, and experience
* An ability to engage respectfully and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities
* Sound administrative skills, ideally within a large or complex organisation
* Strong organisation and time‐management skills, with the ability to juggle priorities and meet deadlines
* An ability to coordinate logistics for small to medium sized events
* High‐quality written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with excellent attention to detail
* An understanding of financial management processes and practices
