We are seeking an experienced Quarry Manager to lead all operational, production, and compliance activities at our remote crushing and screening operation. This role oversees the full quarrying lifecycle — from drill & blast planning through to MRWA‐spec aggregate production — ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant site performance.
You will manage a small, multi‐skilled team, coordinate contractors, and maintain strict adherence to safety, environmental, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Drill & blast planning, scheduling, and contractor management
* Load & haul, crushing, screening, and stockpile management
* Daily production planning and reporting
* Ensure compliance with all statutory obligations under the WA Mines Safety & Inspection Act/Regs
* Manage the blasting program, including approving blast designs and firing plans, liaising with shotfirers and explosives contractors, ensuring exclusion zones, notifications, and environmental controls are in place, monitoring blast performance and fragmentation outcomes
* Lead the production of MRWA‐spec aggregates, ensuring material meets daily testing and quality assurance requirements
* Provide leadership to Crushing Operators, Fitters, and support personnel
* Oversee maintenance planning for mobile plant and Metso crushing equipment
* Conduct incident investigations, risk assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives
* Manage environmental compliance including dust, noise, water, and rehabilitation requirements
* Maintain accurate production records, stockpile inventories, and reporting to senior management
* Foster a strong safety culture and ensure all personnel follow site procedures
Skills & Experience Required
* Proven experience as a Quarry Manager, Quarry Supervisor, or Senior Production Lead in mining, quarrying, or civil crushing operations
* Strong understanding of drill & blast operations
* Strong understanding of crushing & screening processes
* Strong understanding of MRWA aggregate specifications
* Strong understanding of mobile plant operations (Loader, Excavator, ADT, Water Truck)
* Strong understanding of Metso Jaw, Cone, VSI, and screening equipment
* Ability to interpret geological data, blast designs, and production plans
* Strong leadership capability with experience managing small, remote teams
* Competent in production planning, scheduling, and reporting
* Solid understanding of maintenance planning and equipment reliability
* High level of safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance knowledge
Mandatory Requirements
* Unrestricted working rights in Australia
* Quarry Manager or Supervisory experience in WA or similar jurisdiction
* Valid C Class licence (HR/HC advantageous)
* Ability to pass a pre‐employment medical and drug & alcohol screening
* Experience working in remote FIFO or DIDO environments
* Strong computer literacy (production reporting, safety systems, MS Office)
Desirable Qualifications
* WA Quarry Manager's Certificate of Competency (or progress toward)
* Shotfirer or Blast Management exposure (not essential but highly regarded)
* Formal leadership or frontline management training
