Accountant Minimum Qualifications / Experience
* Grade 12 (required)
* A relevant degree is required with SAIPA or CIMA articles required
* Advanced skills in Excel
* Experience on X3 will be an advantage
* A minimum of 2 years' experience in financial accounting
* Must be proficient in English
* Ability to work under pressure and independently without close supervision
* Ability to plan, organize and control priorities with good administrative and communication skills
* Good working knowledge of tax laws in SA
* Strong knowledge of standards, policies, procedures and general knowledge of accounting and auditing skills
* Self-starter
* Accuracy and attention to detail.
* Candidates must be medically fit to perform duties in terms of the Mine Health and Safety Act
Duties And Responsibilities (not Limited To)
* Maintenance of general ledger accounts
* Month end checks
* Perform Tax calculations and populate tax returns
* Manage fixed assets register
* Manage finance teams as and when required
* Manage, coach & mentoring of the accounts team
* Communicate with clients to resolve any issues on debtor accounts
* Maintain and develop internal control systems and procedures.
* Suggest new accounting processes and procedures where applicable
* Liasing with internal and external auditors during audits
* Help with BBBEE audit preparation and audit
* Understand the process of workflow (purchase orders, receipting, invoicing, payments, matching of documents, reconciliation)
* Cashflow forecast
* Provide support to operational management team when and where required
