About the Role
Gidgee Healing is seeking an experienced Senior Medical Receptionist / Administration Officer to join our team. This is a key front‑of‑house role in a busy, fast‑paced clinical environment.
You will provide high‑level reception and administrative support, ensure accurate patient and Medicare processes, and support the training and coordination of reception staff.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver a high standard of customer service at reception in a fast‑paced clinic environment
* Coordinate appointments, patient flow, phone enquiries, and daily clinic lists
* Ensure accurate client data entry
* Support and train Medical Receptionists
* Assist with general administration, records management, reporting, and coordination tasks
* Maintain confidentiality and comply with organisational policies and procedures
* Contribute to continuous quality improvement and a positive team culture
About You
You will bring:
* Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
* Proven ability to manage competing priorities in a busy workplace
* Experience in medical reception and health administration
* Confidence in patient information systems
* The ability to guide, support, and train staff
* Excellent communication and customer service skills, including culturally appropriate communication
Essential Requirements
* Certificate III in Medical Reception, Business Administration, or equivalent experience
* Previous experience in a senior medical reception or similar health administration role
* Strong computer skills, including medical records systems and MS Office
* Satisfactory Police Check and Blue Card (or willingness to obtain)
Desirable
* Experience working in an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation
* Knowledge of primary health care environments
