About the role
Unitywater's 2027 Graduate Program is a two‐year structured program with multiple team rotations for graduates from science, environmental or marine biology disciplines.
As a Science Graduate you'll contribute from day one to real infrastructure that supports communities, experience six‐month rotations across diverse teams, lead a group innovation project, and receive mentorship from senior staff.
After the program you transition into a permanent full‐time position.
Responsibilities
* Learn how the water quality team builds asset strategies that optimise performance and capacity and passes them to business operations.
* See how the Health, Safety, Environment "and" Quality team drives environmental management capability across a complex water and wastewater utility.
* Gain hands‐on experience across teams such as water quality, environmental and sustainability, and science laboratories.
The role covers Sunshine Coast and Moreton Bay offices; graduates will travel as required.
About you
* A bachelor's degree in science (chemistry, microbiology, environmental science, environmental health or marine biology).
* Strong written communication, teamwork and collaboration skills.
* Demonstrated digital literacy and the ability to utilise workplace technologies, digital communication tools, and AI tools responsibly.
* Customer focus and a proactive, positive approach to community interaction.
* A commitment to safety and workplace health.
* Strong time‐management, multi‐tasking, investigative, analytical and research abilities.
* Drive to achieve development goals and manage projects across systems to meet team outcomes.
* High work standards and attention to detail.
* Experience with Excel and report writing is an advantage.
