Service Overview
The Medicare Mental Health Services offer free support, accessible without appointments, referrals, or Medicare cards. Our centers are strategically located in Devonport, Burnie, and Outer Hobart, co-funded by the Australian and Tasmanian Governments.
We cater to the unique needs of the Tasmanian community, providing a blend of peer-integrated recovery and clinical support in a safe and welcoming environment.

Role Responsibilities
As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will deliver tailored psychological strategies to meet the diverse needs of individuals accessing our service in a community-based mental health setting.
You will work collaboratively across health networks to plan and coordinate individualized psychosocial interventions, prioritizing case formulation approaches.
Other responsibilities include:
* Providing comprehensive assessments, brief and ongoing interventions, risk management, and care planning
* Participating actively in multidisciplinary teams, professional networks, and with consumers, families, carers, and extended agencies
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you must possess one of the following qualifications:
General AHPRA registration as a Psychologist, Clinical Psychologist, Mental Health Occupational Therapist, or Mental Health Nurse
AASW registration as an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker
Demonstrated expertise in Brief Intervention Models of Care, commitment to ongoing professional development, and willingness to participate in a continuous learning environment
Solid judgment and evaluation skills, with a working understanding of assessment and care planning
Sound knowledge of public, non-government, and private mental health systems and programs in a community setting
Ideal experience in providing alcohol and other drugs counselling and support
Demonstrated interpersonal skills, showing ability and sensitivity to work with individuals who have or are at risk of developing mental illnesses
Proven ability to work creatively, collaboratively, and effectively as a team member
Strong organizational and time-management skills, including the ability to work under pressure and balance multiple tasks
Excellent verbal communication and writing skills
Eligibility to apply for WWCC and NDIS worker screening clearance
