Currently looking for an experienced Handyperson who has a passion for fixing things and helping people in a community centric environment!
WHO YOU ARE
The role of the Handyperson is to carry out day‐to‐day maintenance activities of apartments, common areas and building exterior of a brand new residential development. The best suited candidate will have experience performing tradesmen assistance tasks and the ability to perform a broad range of general services. Ideal applicants will have gained experience within the residential property industry, and will actively demonstrate a positive, can‐do attitude and a willingness to be part of a newly established team.
This role will keep you busy, whilst offering variety in duties day‐to‐day. You could be tasked with completing general repairs such as plumbing, light bulb changes, painting, plastering and carpentry, or may be required to carry out general investigative work to identify potential issues. You will need to have the physical ability to carry out your duties and be able to establish good working relations with residents and contractors. Communication skills are key in this role as our team members and residents come from diverse backgrounds.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
* General maintenance and minor repairs for the kitchens used in the common areas, the BBQ, the ironing facilities, and lights throughout the building.
* Work within and maintain procedures and standards for all operational areas to maximise efficiency of resources.
* Maintain the highest level of maintenance, safety, and security at all times.
* Attend a brief meeting with the Manager each morning to receive new work orders and instructions.
* Advise the Manager of any work that is identified and requires attention by external contractors.
* Respond to urgent repairs or issues required.
* Ensure all works on premises do not void or affect standing warrantees and/or guarantees.
* Liaise and co‐ordinate any additional trades people that may be required to enter and perform tasks onsite.
* Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment.
* Commit 40 hours per fortnight.
MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS
* National Police Check (completed within last 3 months), at your own cost.
* Unrestricted work rights in Australia and New Zealand.
* Current Driver's Licence.
