Job Overview
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team to deliver high-quality food services in an aged care environment.
Main Responsibilities
* To plan, prepare, cook and present meals that cater to individual dietary needs, preferences and cultural requirements.
* To ensure compliance with relevant policies, Food Safety Programs, Australian Food Standards and legislative requirements.
Key Requirements
* Certificate IV in Kitchen Management or Commercial Cookery is essential.
* A minimum of two years' experience as a chef or cook manager in aged care or similar environments is required.
* A Food Safety Supervisor Certificate and knowledge of HACCP principles are necessary.
Desirable Qualities
* Experience with therapeutic diets, including dementia-specific nutrition approaches would be advantageous.
* Training in allergen management and cross-contamination prevention would be beneficial.
