HNELHD - Staff Specialist or Visiting Medical Officer in Obstetrics and Gynaecology - Armidale Rural Referral Hospital
Armidale Rural Referral hospital is looking for Staff Specialist and/or Visiting Medical Officers to join its Obstetrics and Gynaecology team. Applicants must hold a medical degree registrable with AHPRA and hold Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRANZCOG) or equivalent. Applicants expecting to be elected to Fellowship in the coming months may be considered.
Armidale Rural Referral Hospital is a level 4 Maternity service where the woman and her family remain at the centre of the care experience and are actively involved in all decisions about the pregnancy, birth and after the baby is born. All decision‐making is based on relationships of mutual respect and trust. The hospital has 3 birthing suites operating 24 hours, seven days per week. Maternity and Newborn Services are delivered by an experienced team of Midwives, General Practice Obstetricians and Specialist Obstetricians.

About Armidale Rural Referral Hospital The hospital is a ninety‐nine‐bed facility providing a comprehensive range of services including acute medical and surgical services, obstetrics, paediatrics and a range of diagnostic and allied health services. A busy emergency department, a Level 3 Close Observation Unit, a mental health unit and a renal dialysis unit serve the 55,200 referral community. Adult Medical services include respiratory, cardiac, chemotherapy, renal and palliative care. Surgical services include general, orthopaedics, gynaecology, urology and ophthalmology. The facility is modern and well‐equipped, with recent developments opening in 2019. Tablelands Clinical School is part of the UON and UNE Joint Medical Program, supporting medical students with clinical placements and teaching.

Situated midway between Sydney and Brisbane on the New England Highway, the region offers diverse outdoor activities and an educational centre featuring a university and schools. Mandatory Requirements
* Admitting, consultative, diagnostic, procedural, outpatient, telehealth and on‐call services as determined and required by HNELHD.
* Attendance and availability during rostered work hours and whilst on‐call, including clinical handover, clinical supervision, teaching and for emergency and routine care as required.
* Provision of education and research as determined and required by HNELHD.
Qualifications and Experience
* Primary medical degree registrable with AHPRA and Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, and/or overseas trained specialist pathways.
* Recent and comprehensive experience in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
* Evidence of scholarly activity, ongoing professional development, and ability to assist other staff and trainees.
* Strong oral and written communication skills, including interaction with patients, students, health professionals and the public.
* Collaboration skills, ability to network and operate within an interdisciplinary framework.
* Management experience, flexibility, past leadership and safety/quality improvement activities.
* Commitment to continued professional development, peer review and clinical governance.
* Advocacy contributions improving individual and societal health.
